SCHOOL POLICYBACKGROUNDReal Estate Educators is approved by the Pennsylvania State Real Estate Commission for the purpose of offering the distance education courses developed by CompuTaught. NOTICE TO STUDENTAll questions pertaining to registration, refunds, school policy, course content, explanation of state licensing law, final exams (if applicable), and completion certificates should be addressed to Real Estate Educators. Real Estate Educators may be reached at (412) 369-8771. Important Notice: Regarding Pre-License and Broker CoursesA proctored examination is required. Information regarding the procedure for taking the proctored exam will be forwarded to you. Important Notice: Regarding Continuing Education Courses to Individuals Licensed After 12/01/07Individuals licensed after 12/01/07 will be required to complete their first 14 hours of continuing education in specific, mandatory, Commission-developed courses. This course is composed of two parts: a general module and two practice specific modules. Required attendees must complete the general module PLUS one practice specific module. The first module, required to be taken by all standard salespersons taking continuing education for the first time, focuses on issues applicable to all salespersons. This seven-hour module serves as the foundation for material presented in each of the two available additional seven-hour modules, which focus on specific areas of practice. A seven-hour commercial module develops key areas in which a salesperson engaging in brokerage and/or management of commercial properties would be expected to be proficient. The seven-hour residential module is designed to help develop appropriate skills to enable the salesperson licensee to provide the highest level of professional services to consumers in residential brokerage transactions. COURSE EXPIRATION AND REVIEWAll course lessons on the computer must be completed within 180 days from the date of enrollment (unless individual state law specifies) Access to the computer lessons will expire at midnight on the 180th day after enrollment. You have 90 days to access and review the course content after you have completed the last lesson in a course.(Regardless of when the course is completed within the 180 days from enrollment). Note: Continuing Education Classes for the 2008 Pennsylvania Real Estate License Renewal period will not be extended beyond June 30, 2008. If Continuing Education Classes for the 2008 Pennsylvania Real Estate License Renewal period are not completed by June 30, 2008, there will be NO REFUND and COURSE TRANSCRIPT WILL NOT BE ISSUED. COURSE EXTENSION POLICYIf you cannot complete your course within the 180 days, then you may purchase a 60 day extension from Real Estate Educators. The 60 day extension period begins from the date your course originally expires. You may purchase up to three extensions per course. It is your responsibility to contact your school coordinator to find out about purchasing an extension. It is recommended that you purchase the extension immediately after the course has expired in order to be able to have the full 60 days of the extension. Note: Continuing Education Classes for the 2008 Pennsylvania Real Estate License Renewal period will not be extended beyond June 30, 2008. If Continuing Education Classes for the 2008 Pennsylvania Real Estate License Renewal period are not completed by June 30, 2008, there will be NO REFUND and COURSE TRANSCRIPT WILL NOT BE ISSUED.
CERTIFICATE OF COURSE COMPLETIONUpon completion of Continuing Education Courses for the 2008 Pennsylvania Real Estate License renewal within 30 days of completion of each course Real Estate Educators will provide the Pennsylvania State Real Estate Commission in a format approved by the Commission a list of each licensee who satisfactorily completed the course. Upon completion of Continuing Education Courses for the 2008 Pennsylvania Real Estate License renewal, you will not receive a Completion Certificate / Course Transcript unless requested in writing from Real Estate Educators, 9401 McKnight Road, Suite 302 B, Pittsburgh, PA 15237. In the event the certificate is lost, a duplicate may be obtained from offices by request. An administrative fee may be charged for the duplicate. Upon completion of Real Estate Fundamentals, Real Estate Practice, or Real Estate Broker classes, you will receive a Completion Certificate / Course Transcript within 30 days of satisfactory completion of the course. In the event the certificate is lost, a duplicate may be obtained from offices by request. An administrative fee may be charged for the duplicate. *REGISTRATION CANCELLATION POLICYYou have the right to cancel your student registration for any reason up to five (5) business days from the date of purchase WITH THE EXCEPTION OF REAL ESTATE EXAM PREPARATION COURSES. A cancellation fee will be charged to the student to cancel a registration. The amount of the cancellation fee is 15% of the total purchase amount. If the course includes one or more textbooks, the books must be returned at the student's expense. The request for cancellation will not be processed until the book(s) are returned to the school in reusable condition (if applicable). NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN FOR ANY OF THE REAL ESTATE EXAM PREPARATION COURSES. If you call Technical Support, please be prepared to explain your problem in detail and have access to your computer. In order to effectively troubleshoot your issue, our technicians begin the call by asking you a series of questions regarding your operating environment. We will need to know what type of computer you are using, the operating system you are using, the version number of your software, etc. Your call may be documented or monitored to help us maintain quality of service standards.

REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPLETING THE COURSEPlease refer to the directions on your course home page for specific instructions regarding the completion of your course and the “Introduction” lesson located at the beginning of each course. To complete the course and receive your Completion Certificate, you must successfully complete the following requirements: Complete ALL instructional lessons in the course by answering each question correctly at least twice. Return a signed and dated Student Affidavit to Real Estate Educators when the course is complete. The Student Affidavit is a signed document from you certifying that you have personally completed each assigned lesson of instruction. This student affidavit must be returned to Real Estate Educators before you can receive credit for a distance learning course. (A “Student Affidavit” link will appear on your course home page upon completion of the course. Click on that link to obtain a copy of the Student Affidavit). CD-ROM Students: You MUST upload your course work upon completion of all course lessons. (Directions on how to upload your course are available on your course home page). If you do not have the ability to establish an internet connection, you must save your course work to a diskette and return that diskette to Real Estate Educators so that the school administrator can check it for course completion. (Online courses will be automatically marked as complete when you finish the last lesson). Please note: It is highly recommended that you upload your course work every time you exit your course, as this will save any work that may be lost if you experience computer problems. HOLIDAYS (School closed for business) STUDENT BEHAVIOR / DISCIPLINARY POLICIESWhen taking our educational courses, you are expected to comply with all policies as stated within this school catalog. If you fail to adhere to these policies, it may invalidate your eligibility for course credit. (These situations will be handled on a case by case basis.)
