Broker Courses
Be at least 21 years of age
Have a high school education degree or equivalent
Have worked 3 years as a licensed salesperson with experience quelifications the PA Real Estate Commission considers adequate for practice as a broker.
Submit to the Real Commission a detailed resume of real estate activities perfomed by the candidate while working as a sales person along with a sworn statement from the candidate's employing broker confirming that these activities wer performed.
Complete 240 hours (16 credits) in real estate instruction in areas prescribed by the PA Real Estate Commission and provide the Official Transcripts to the PA Real Estate Commission evidencing the acquisition of course credits. Course must have been completed within 10 years prior to the date of the successful completion of the licensing examination.
Have a passing score (75%) on EACH part (National & Pennsylvania) of the Broker's Examination within 3 years of submission of a properly completed license application, except that an applicant who has been actively licensed as a broker in another state within the past 5 years shall only be required to take and pass the Pennsylvania portion of the examination.
Submit a completed application with the required application fee(s) and recommentdations to the PA Real Estate Commission.
A candidate MAY NOT apply credits used to qualify for the salesperson's examination toward fulfillment of the broker education requirement
Two of the required 16 credits shall be in a Commission developed or approved Real Estate Office Management Course, two of the required 16 credits shall be in a Commission developed or approved Real Estate Law Course and six of the remaining 12 credits shall be in 3 or more of the commission developed courses listed below. The remaining 6 credits shall be in real estate courses but not necessarily those listed in this paragraph. A maximum of 4 credits will be allowed for each real estate course.

NOTE: The PA Real Estate Commission will apply the following standards to determine if a candidate has met the education requrement: (1) A candidate who has a bachelor degree with a major in real estate (or equivalent to a major in real estate) from an accredited college: (2) A candidate who has a juris doctor degree from an accredited law school.
